Our Book Bench is a shared reading movement that invites kids and the grown-ups who care about them to read together. At the heart of the project is a youth + adult book club podcast, created by a mother and son, designed to spark imagination, connection, and joy — and to make reading together feel simple, meaningful, and accessible.

Each episode invites kids and the grown-ups who care about them — parents, grandparents, godparents, mentors, neighbors, and friends — to read together, wonder together, and grow together.

In a time when it’s easy to feel scattered, disconnected, or caught in the news cycle, reading together is an act of hope — a small, joyful way to create connection and beauty in our everyday lives.

This season we're reading The Neverfear, the brand-new third book in Katherine Rundell's Impossible Creatures series — reading it together, a little each week. It's an adventure wrapped around a question worth carrying with you: being brave isn't the same as not being afraid.
